“Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.”– Buddha

No secret, I LOVE to try new things. Mostly I find things on my own that I want to share with you because I think they’re neat, and sometimes companies send me things to test – in which case, I’ll always let you know that’s what’s up, (trust me when I say that I decline more than I will accept), but in either instance, be assured that when I give you my opinion on something, it is heartfelt.

Audiobooks We LOVE!

Audiobooks We LOVE!

The Cupcake and I are ROAD WARRIORS, so we really enjoy audiobooks together. (And, she doesn’t like reading chapter books.) Here’s a list of our favorite series and authors (yes, I’ve left a few off that we didn’t care for) – most of which we checked out from the...

BLOOM by Alli K Designs

BLOOM by Alli K Designs

This post is in collaboration with Alli K Design. I was provided a review copy of her newest book. All opinions are my own.  I met Alli at my favorite boutique. She was just a student back then, but it was clear that she had a  flair for design and how it...

Book Review: The Property Brothers’ “It Takes Two: Our Story”

Book Review: The Property Brothers’ “It Takes Two: Our Story”

Celebrity does not easily sway my kid. I’m pretty sure that’s a good thing. Occasionally, I will  toss out an opportunity for my daughter to meet someone that she might consider somewhat of a role model, only to learn she is SO not impressed. However, she is a bit of...

8 fun soccer movies for girls

Good gosh, it took a long time to get that school year done with, yes? Now that summer officially here and the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France just around the corner, the conditions are perfect to go all in for soccer a go-go. If you have a soccer-crazy daughter like...

Wonder Park has a great message for kids and adults

WONDER PARK tells the story of a magnificent amusement park where the imagination of an optimistic, imaginative, and wildly creative girl named June comes alive. Me and the Cupcake kicked off Spring Break with a girl date and a movie. Getting complimentary passes to...

Silvercar by Audi Review – Luxury car rental experience

Silvercar by Audi Review – Luxury car rental experience

What is Silvercar by Audi? I always check my American Express for offers when I’m renting cars, looking for a discount on one of the big three (Hertz, Avis, Budget). The only car rental offer I found was for something I’d never heard of, “Silvercar by Audi.” Hmmm. I...

Driving the Chevy Traverse Premier

Driving the Chevy Traverse Premier

This post is sponsored by Chevy who provided me a 2018 Chevy Traverse Premier to test drive for a week for my honest review. All opinions are my own.  "Hi, this is Doug. I’m calling to schedule a pick up of the Chevy Traverse you have on loan."   "That’s...

Best thing about a loaner car is…

Best thing about a loaner car is…

I don’t know how messy and lived in your car is, but mine is atrocious. I mean, it would be no surprise to see a small animal scurry out of my SUV when the doors open, followed by and a tumble of sports equipment and dog leashes. Because my life is: work all day,...

Wood burning without the tools

Wood burning without the tools

It was like the blitz round of grocery games: my last trip to the craft store before the stay-at-home orders went into effect. Me flinging things into my cart IN CASE I would need them over the next two months. I justified it by “I’M GOING TO BE SO BORED” (clearly...

A Round-up of North Texas Farmers Markets

A Round-up of North Texas Farmers Markets

One of the best things about summer is the Saturday morning tradition of shopping the local farmers market. If you've never been, a farmers market is (typically) an outdoor, temporary event where local growers come and set up a booth to sell directly to shoppers....

Minefaire: The #1 Minecraft Event is Coming to Dallas!

This giveaway is sponsored by Minefaire. All opinions are my own.  I know a lot of you parents have a love-hate relationship with the video games your kids play. I get that, I am that, but there's one game that I wholeheartedly endorse for my nearly 11 yo girl and...

The Art of the Brick LEGO art at the Perot Museum

The Art of the Brick LEGO art at the Perot Museum

What does a frustrated corporate lawyer do to unwind? He goes home and builds with LEGOs. At least, that's how internationally-renown LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya passions began. The Los Angeles based artist debuted his The Art of the Brick installation at The Perot...
