“Mom, c’mon. Let’s go find Chintz!”
She’s getting the hang of it. Finally.
As she crept downstairs hand in hand with me, she instantly spotted him sitting in her rocking chair in front of her mini DVD player, hands in her box of popcorn and every one of her DVD’s (and remaining popcorn) sprayed out on the table. While she was somewhat amused, I still got the “No Way!” muttered under her breath, followed by, “Mom. We have to clean this up!” And she proceeded to eat her popcorn. (Note to self – no Elf on the Shelf food tonight so child has decent breakfast.)
I will say that she was not very happy with Chintz when she wanted to watch her DVD player and found that he had run the battery completely down. That silly old Elf on a Shelf had himself a movie marathon. What are you going to do?
Later that day we had an impromptu run in with the red man himself at our community Open House. She wanted NOTHING to do with him until I suggested she go tell Santa what mischief her Elf on a Shelf had been getting into. Agreeable, she thought that since Chintz had been reporting on her nightly, turning the tables seemed only fair. None-the-less, the big guy — even while eating his lunch — is still a bit intimidating no matter how much coaxing he offered to her. Hand in hand with Mom, she managed to let us get this photo. Right AFTER we explained her Elf on the Shelf’s antics.
