Lolli and Pops, Frisco Texas review

Do you like candy? I like candy. The Princess Cupcake REALLY likes candy. So when I saw that a new store called Lolli and Pops was opening at Stonebriar Mall last weekend, I thought maybe we should go.

Normally I’d avoid “Grand Openings” like the plague because that’s just a fancy way of saying there’s going to be too many people there (evidenced in photo above), however this one promised hot fluffed on-the-spot cotton candy,

and flavored popcorn.

And well, candy of course. Plus were all out of ideas for Father’s Day gifts and that was a great excuse to suffer through the free samples.

Therefore as any caring wife would do, I made it a priority to find a window between the soccer game, the Daddy’s Day make and take at Michaels, and the birthday party that afternoon to get our sweet on.

I’m glad we did. Nom nom nom.

This is such a charming store. From the full length glass case of fine chocolates,

to the whole room dedicated to all things gummies,

I found myself walking from display to display, gasping and saying, “I remember eating these when I was little!” And, “Check out this whole wall of candy from Japan!”

And, “Seriously? Peanut Butter and Jelly soda? Bacon soda?”

I’m not sure who was more excited, the 6 year old of the grown up kid.

The chalkboard signs and the barbershop quartet hats that the employees wore just add to the time travel experience to an old-timey sweet shoppe. I get a little giddy just thinking about being there.

Much of the store is purchase by bulk. (Where was this store when I was planning the Frozen Party?!)

Grab a bag and fill it up with your favorites old and new. You pay by the pound — and that’s the weight of the candy, not the weight you’ll gain. You’ll pay for that too, but it’ll be worth it.

Lolli and Pops also has bagged candy and candy bars. In fact, there’s a whole room dedicated to chocolate bars, with a chocolate “menu” to help you decide.

I kid you not. They take chocolate seriously. We carefully chose a chili flavored chocolate bar and a bag of chocolate limes from England to be among the hubs Father’s Day swag. We won’t mention what all the Princess Cupcake and I treated ourselves to…. but we’ll just say that we got the big shopping bag to carry it all home.

Check out Lolli and Pops next time you’re shopping in Stonebriar Mall in Frisco, or one of their many other locations around the country. You can visit their website here for more information.

Can anyone tell what what Turkish Delight is anyway?!

PS – No, I did not get compensated for this review. I just like candy.
