Lego is a big deal in our house.
Now you can even see Lego AS a model house. Actually, not just any house, but the White House.
And the Supreme Court. And the Lincoln Memorial…
The Lego Americana Roadshow is wrapping up its first stop this summer at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco this weekend. If you haven’t been yet, you really should go check it out. There are 10 iconic American landmarks (plus additional “brickscapes”) set up in mini-figure scale, and sprinkled throughout the mall. With each display, there’s are fun facts about the real landmark and the model, such as “What is unique about the spelling of “Pennsylvania” on the Liberty Bell?”, and “How many bricks tall is the LEGO Washington monument?” Some of the displays took more than 250 hours to build!
There are also a number of chances to win prizes, and even a fully-staffed hands-on play area.
Guess how many LEGOs in this new car?
On the Saturday we went, they had a FREE mini-build of the Statue of Liberty!
And of course they had a big model of Lady Liberty too.
The Cupcake and I had a great time checking off the model map and taking photos of each display.
Bonus points that the Cupcake told me why Abraham Lincoln is her favorite president and how he freed the slaves.
The Roadshow’s last day in Frisco is June 7th, but you can still catch it in these cities:
Wauwatosa, WI at Mayfair Mall – June 12 – 28
Cincinnati, OH at Kenwood Town Center – July 3 – 19
Hoover, AL at Riverchase Galleria – August 20 – September 7
Alpharetta, GA at Northpoint Mall – September 17 – October 4
Newark, DE at Christiana Mall – October 15 – November 1
Dates may change, you can double check Lego Americana.
I’m looking forward to seeing the roadshow when it stops near us later next month! I’m in love with that little Lady Liberty. I may have to make it myself from the bricks we have laying around…
Thanks for the sneak peek! 😉
I hope you enjoy it! It’s pretty amazing!
