I popped into the Vintage House last weekend in a desperate, last minute — like I’m on the way to the party last minute — attempt to get an ornament for a Daisy Troop’s ornament exchange and also the mom’s white elephant exchange.
Not only does the Vintage House, aka “Pink House,” have the most gorgeous nostalgic ornaments to choose from (three sizes: small $5, medium $10, and large $15), they really came through on the white elephant with a perfect suggestion of Poo-Pourri. I opted to bust the $25 limit and get two bottles. One of the traditional scent,
and one that glows in the dark (you heard me: GLOWS IN THE DARK) called, “Poo-Tonium.”
If you’re not familiar with this genius product, well… let’s just say keeping a bottle in your purse would probably come in handy for unavoidable smelly downloads. Simply spray the Poo-Pourri in the toilet bowl before you go and it traps the scent from the surface. They come in varying levels of strength to fit all your family’s needs. 🙂
Having got the business out of the way, I moved on to shopping for myself — of course!
Without guilt, I snapped up this fun bracelet from Good Works to wear right away.
Each has scripture imprinted on the leather and a strong magnetic closure. Even better is that 25% of net profits from the sale of each bracelet and candle to to non-profits.
Mine has one of my favorite verses on it, Phillippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Read more about Good Works bracelets and products here.
We also came home with a pair of dreamy Snoozies for the Princess Cupcake to wrap and put under the tree for me. I just adore these grey sequin ones.
The Cupcake really wanted the gold sequin version (shocking). But look, they even have mens.
Not only are these the most comfortable slippers I have EVER had on my feet, they are a steal at $12 – $14.
Then I got a little excited when I saw how many of the new melamine party dishes Nan had for many of the regional college teams.
For whatever reason, it’s soooooooooo hard to find a good LSU anything around here — and if you do, you’ll pay your price of tuition for it so naturally I fell in love with ALL of the reasonably-priced tableware. They also carry lots of those OTHER teams available too.
If I told you how much they are exactly, then you know when I bought nearly all of them how much I spent and that would be embarrassing. Most started with a 1 though. 🙂
Speaking of tableware, I just laugh and laugh when I see these cutting boards. They are the perfect gift for the cook in your life.
And one more. Get ready to swoon over this “Pass Along Plate.” How sweet is this?
“This plate shall have no owner, for its journey never ends. It travels in this circle of our family and friends. It carries love from home to home for everyone to share. The food that’s placed upon it is filled with love and care. So please enjoy what’s on this plate, then fill it up again. And pass along the love it holds to family and friends.” $15 Who should I give it to first?
New on the block are these gorgeous Cleobella Mexicana wallets (The silver is to die for). I dare say that they’re worth the splurge at$149.
I love that you can mix them in with your own beaded bracelets and bangles and they look fantastic. Prices vary per design but there is always a BOM (bangle of the month) that is $5 off. This month’s crown is quite simply, the best.
I always love the Kelly Rae Roberts line and the Vintage House has the most I’ve seen anywhere. These beautiful plaques, ornaments, jewelry, and more have uplifting and meaningful sayings paired with precious colorful artwork that you’ll want surrounding you where you live. I have two on the wall in my office!
Moving along to your olfactory choices, don’t leave without one of the magnificent Ribbonwick candles. Any candle-lover will freak when she sees the serpentine wick burning so elegantly in these truly unique containers. And they smell ah-mazing. I love, love, love these almost too much to burn them.
Keep it clean and smell good with the Michel Design Works soaps. At $10.95 for the foaming shea butter hand soap, they are a little luxury you won’t want to live without.
They last FOR-EVER. Okay not really, but we have them at almost all our sinks and when I say they can last more than a year, I’m honest. Even MEN will come out of your bathroom raving about how good they smell. We’re fans of the liquid versions (primarily because they have such pretty labels) but they also have bar soap if that’s your thing. The Princess Cupcake’s favorite is Tutti Fruitti scented with violets and berries, and its matching bubble bath.
You can’t say Pink House with out the words “Vera Bradley” coming out of your mouth soon after. Nan carries the most extensive line of Vera Bradley that I’ve ever seen. Her secret sale room upstairs is a must see too with discontinued patterns 25% – 40% off. This is my favorite of the newest patterns, the ruffled cosmetic clutch.
Although it does remind me a little too much of Alabama football during this time of year. (GEAUX Tigers!)
I suspect that the Pink House is becoming known for their vast selection of Kendra Scott as well.
This pretty line of jewelry adds the perfect sparkle to everyday or special occasions. I made a wish list with a dainty necklace on it for Big Daddy to check out on Christmas Eve –because we all know men don’t shop until the very last second.
Thankfully, Miss Nan knows how to deal with them and will have it ready and wrapped in these cute bags 10 minutes to close when those testosterone-laiden procrastinators finally get around to shopping.
I didn’t even mention the tons of kids toys and books and accessories that are on the 3rd floor of this magical pink house. The Princess Cupcake highly endorses the Jelly Cat line but there are several on her wish list and she wouldn’t want you to buy them before I had a chance to, so I’m not allowed to show you. (But here’s one. Please don’t buy it.)
Just know that like the Snoozies slippers, they may be the softest stuffed animal you’ll ever hold. And they’re from the UK so that makes them over-the-top fab.
YES! The Vintage House ships! Happy Shopping!

PS – No, I didn’t receive anything for this post. I just love Miss Nan and the store and all the wonderful things in it. I’m lazy and if you are too, this is one-stop shopping at it’s best. And you support a local small business that’s been in this family for umpteen years. I love that too.
