Fantasy in Sand comes to Arlington

There’s a new attraction at Globe Life Park in Arlington this summer, and you just have to follow the yellow brick road, i.e. I-30, to get there.

Fantasy in Sand made its US debut, officially opening in Lot F today, just a major leaguers fastball away from the iconic baseball stadium. Featuring the classic story of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Fantasy in Sand fills two huge air-conditioned tents with 3 million pounds of sand shaped into 16 nostalgic scenes from the movie we all know and love.

I know it looks like they are statues of concrete, but they’re not! If that weren’t enough to make your jaw drop, these internationally renowned sand sculptors also have a special themed finale featuring, America the Beautiful with the Lincoln Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore and more.

Young and old will appreciate the magnificence of these works of art which stand upwards of 20 feet tall, but the kids will really appreciate the 2,000 square foot sandbox loaded with beach toys at the end. (Don’t worry, Mom and Dad. There’s a bar and tables for you to wait while they get their dig on.)

And just when I found myself saying, “They really should have a gift shop here and sell some cool sand and stuff…”  we stumbled upon the retail mecca just prior to the exit. I just couldn’t decide between Team Dorothy or Team Wicked Witch. What do you think?

I did come home with a cute mug though.

What a great pre-game activity for your family during game day, or skip the traffic madness and go when the Texas Rangers are out of town. Either way, you’ll enjoy this unusual and unique travelling sand spectacular. I am giving away two admission tickets below!

Fantasy in Sand runs from May 22nd through August 23rd when it will move onto its next US city. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit FantasyInSand.com
