Mom’s know mud.
We spend a lot of time with mud. We are actually experts at cleaning it off of car mats. T-ball pants. Shoes. Dogs. Cars. Carpet….
But while we spend most of our time trying to maintain a protective barrier between our spawn and mud, there’s a little piece of us that wishes we had the same unconditional love of mud that our little people do.
You know your kids love to play in mud. It’s the symbol of fun. If you’re on the baseball field and you come off clean – everyone knows you didn’t have fun. If you’re covered in dirt, well… we all know you had a heck of a game, in fact we’re looking to see if you got the game ball.
So moms. It’s time. Time for you to have some mud. I mean fun. Mud fun.
Old Navy, the purveyor of reasonably-priced fashion-forward apparel for the whole family, knows fun. And they thought Mom’s were missing out on the penultimate of fun. A mud run.
The Pretty Muddy Run to be precise. No men allowed.
Yep, throw your Tide sticks to the wind and jump off into the muck because this one is for the ladies.
Old Navy is bringing the Pretty Muddy Run to Skyline Ranch (1801 E Wheatland Rd, Dallas) on June 1st. It’s a 5k adventurous obstacle course and mud run, and you should be there. Because not only will you get to be covered with dirt and not feel the slightest bit guilty about it (mud’s good for your hair you know…), at the end of the run are a) showers and b) an epic finish line party and Old Navy fashion show featuring the latest in active wear trends. You know you want your bad self to look bomb-diggity when you’re exercising. Isn’t that secretly why we work out? For the accessories and the clothes?? Or is that just me?
Here’s what I would wear to the mud run IF I wasn’t going to be sprawled out on a beach with a cabana boy bringing me drinks next weekend:
Womens fitted compression capris – think Spanx for workouts, yes please!
The padded sports bra (make sure the girls are nice a protected in all the muddy melee)
and the GoDRY tank – ON SALE – Holla!
You can see the whole Old Navy Active Wear line here. There’s a great selection of styles (doesn’t matter if you’re more yoga-y or get down to bid-ness on the track – they have them all) and patterns – or no pattern if you like your work-out clothes a little less flashy. They’re all at the price point we know and love from Old Navy. (AND rree shipping with $50 online orders.)
The other thing I like about Old Navy active wear? No tags and flat lock seams so there’s no uncomfortable chaffing. And you’ll stay dry with the combination of cotton, spandex and GoDRY fabrics that wick away moisture. I’m considering getting an outfit for each day of the week just to prepare for the Texas summer heat of 120 degrees! There’s even a secret pocket in the Active pants for keys, ipods or other essentials. I’m sold.
Mud. Party. Friends. Fashion. The only thing that would make this even better? A discount. Use BLOGON when you register for the Pretty Muddy Run and get $10 off.
Old Navy has compensated me for sharing the event details and featuring their active line of clothes. Although, if I were going to be here, I’d likely be joining you for the fun. Game on girls!
I am missing the part in there that says you’ll be running 🙂
If I were in town, we’d BOTH be running!
