Make a Wonder Woman Wine Glass

Do you love this Wonder Woman wine glass I made for Mother’s Day? It was “super” easy and everyone in the Justice League is sure to want one.

Here’s what you need and where I got my supplies:

• Wine Glass – Dollar Tree
• Blue Glitter – This is from a set of Martha Stewart glitter from Michaels, but I also have similar glitter from Walmart
• Mod Podge Waterbase Sealer, Glue and Finish (16-Ounce), CS11202 Gloss Finish“>Mod Podge – Any craft store
• Brush
• Gold Foil Vinyl – from Paper Studio, I found at Hobby Lobby
• Silhouette Cameo — Starter Bundle“>Silhouette Cameo – If you don’t have one of these, you could use glass paint or order a vinyl decal from Etsy.

First, I made the file for my Silhouette by tracing an image that I found online. Then I cut the image out of the gold vinyl and applied it to the clean wine glass.

You can get a lot fancier with your Wonder Woman wine glass by using two colors of with vinyl  but honestly, I’m not very good at that. I stick to what’s easy and fast so it was just the gold for me.

Next, using the brush, I put Mod Podge which is like glue, all over the stem of the glass where I wanted the glitter to stick.

Sprinkle glitter on the Mod Podge and let dry for several hours. It’s okay if it’s not an even coating because you’re going to do this again in a few hours. I let this sit overnight.

Now reapply the Mod Podge on top of the glitter. Yep, you can do that. You’re doing this to make sure that you don’t have any areas that are lighter than the others. Let dry again for several hours. I went to a few work meetings and let it dry.

You’ll want to seal the glitter in so that it doesn’t shed off in your hands so apply another coat of Mod Podge all over the glitter. Let dry several hours.

Annnnnd…. Put one more coat of Mod Podge on the glitter and let dry.

And because I can’t leave anything alone, I added some white rhinestones to make it resemble the stars in her uniform. For these, I used E6000 adhesive. Here’s what it looked like afterwards.

Yep, totally keeping this one for myself!
