So I have to tell you about the party I went to last night.
It was my first visit to Kim Hoegger Home (it’s a store) located at 2933 Henderson in Dallas. And won’t be my last. In fact, I’ve already been back.
Despite how much I hate going to parties on my own — Kim sent me a message and promised to show me something I’m currently obsessed with: chalk paint.
Seeing as how I haven’t had the opportunity to nerd out with anyone face-to-face over chalk paint, I made the hour commute to chat up the experts.
Before I hit the bar OR the paint, (shocking, I know) I was mesmerized by this gorgeous cake by Annie’s Culinary Creations. (Not surprising.)
I LOVE cake porn. Poor Annie herself made the cake and was there to appease my 1,001 questions about all things cake craft, which is another of my obsessions that I rarely have the opportunity to talk with someone who shares the same. I was in heaven and I’d barely made it in the front door.
I was liking this party already.
Instinctively I made my way to the paint demo room and it was love at first sight with the full line of Amy Howard products, in particular the dreamy chalk paint colors, the vibrant aerosol lacquers, and especially the Dust of Ages. Oh… I cannot wait to try the Dust of Ages. It looks like something you’d find in an urn, but the result is fantastic after you dust it on your waxed piece. (Kim’s having workshops in January.)
When I finally had the opportunity to rightly peek around the store, I got to take in all the jaw dropping pretties while noshing on some absolute yummies from Sissys Southern Kitchen and Bar. Nom Nom…
Check out these amazing displays:
I wish I could just load up the trees and put them in my house.
Before I left, I picked up some beautiful Christmas tags from Paper and Peonies. Check out her Etsy store here.
As I told Kim today, the showroom is a perfect mix of antique and new. Everything felt fresh and on trend even though there were obvious older pieces in there. I will be looking to her for inspiration for our own home.
If you’re in the area, you must check it out. Just go south on 75 to Henderson. Make a left on Henderson and it’s in the first block on your right. If you aren’t in the Dallas area, her website is fab too.
