You know you want to buy from all of those budding sales stars, so here’s your excuse to stock up. This recipe for Trefoil Cookie Balls will have you filling your pantry, they’re just soooo good. They taste like salted caramel chocolate cookies with a surprising little liquor twist. You know you want to make some this weekend, and next, and next….
It’s an easy, no bake recipe that will disappear faster than you can say, “S’mores.” But it’s for adults only – let the kids eat the cookies straight from the box. These are mama’s treat for a long day of cookie booth sales.
Trefoil Cookie Balls

Here’s what you need:
- 2 tablespoons Hersheys Special Dark cocoa (the powdered kind)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ¼ cup Van Meer’s Stroopwafel Imitation Liqueur (I got mine at Spec’s)
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 box of Girl Scout Trefoils, finely crushed
- 2 cup pecans, finely chopped
- Sea salt in grinder
- Additional powdered sugar
Here’s what you do:
- Stir together cocoa and 1 cup of powdered sugar.
- Combine Stroopwafel and corn syrup in separate bowl.
- Add liquer mixture into cocoa mixture and stir well.
- Add Trefoils and pecans and combine well.
- Shape into ¾ inch balls and roll in the additional powdered sugar to coat completely.
- Set on cookie sheet and sprinkle lightly with sea salt.
- Let dry before serving or storing.
Makes approximately 3 dozen.
