The Princess Cupcake and I have a special routine each Monday before dance class. She chooses where sheād like to get sugared up, then I drive there and pay for whatever she wants. Iām sure Mrs Sheilds loves that I enable her snack induced high right before I release her into the ballet directors care, but itās our moment and Iām not messing with it.
For the past several months, the Cupcakeās purveyor of choice has been Dunkin Donuts. Iām no sugar nazi so I donāt mind detouring our (somewhat) healthy diet once a week for a delicious sugary treat. Besides, weāre NEVER going to get out of the house early enough in the morning to stop for donuts. Not gonna happen. So as an afternoon treat, Iām okay with it.Ā The rows and rows of beautiful calories and luscious fat grams are almost too much for my watering mouth to choose from. Itās our little slice of heaven to look forward to on the first day of each week. The only thing that might make the donuts taste better is if we could hear Matthew McConaugheyĀ narrate their attributes, all slow and Texan-like. Pretty much Iād like this new ad from Reliant to greet me at the door of Dunkin Donuts each visit:
We havenāt bought a ābakers dozenā of donuts on our Monday visits, but I might if I had a coupon. Or free electricity for a month. I mean, if Matthew McConaugheyĀ wants to save me a few hundred bucks, who am I to judge, right? In fact, I probably wouldnāt stop with just a dozen donuts, I think I might buy that Nikon lens for my camera Iāve had my eye on. Or maybe wipe out my closet and start over with some fabulous new clothes for Spring. Or, I might even go get botox.
No, I wouldnāt get botox.
Well, if it meant Matthew McConaughey would take me to dinner, yeah, I might get botox. But I donāt see that happening, so no. No botox.
But I wouldnāt say no to buying some plane tickets and getting the heck out of dodge for a much needed vacay.

The money from a monthly electric bill here is pretty large. If I didnāt have to pay that amount of money for a month I would take it and get away with my wife for a weekend. I am set to deploy in a month and with two little ones (a 1 month old and a 2 year old) she is going to have her hands full for the next year or so. I would love to just get away with her somewhere quiet, take her to a nice dinner, and just enjoy a few days together focusing on each other before the big change we face this next year.

My husband and I have never gotten to go on our honeymoon. What I would do with the money saved is buy some tropical things, and set my living room up with decor, lay a blanket down on the floor, with a picnic full of wine and cheese, and have a romantic tropical āhoneymoonā at home. Maybe buy a CD that sounds like ocean wavesā¦ I absolutely LOVE the beach! The money has never been there for us, so this would give us the feel of a real honeymoon, without ever going on one.

In November my boyfriend and I went on a camping trip and it was so miserably cold that I actually slept in the truck. I kept āhintingā that I wouldnāt be upset if we left a day early lol but Iām glad I stuck it out because it turned out my boyfriend took me on the trip to propose to me. With the money saved from a free month of electricity I would take my fiance on a camping tripā¦in warmer weather, so it could be more romantic and less shivering and blowing noses lol.
We would rent a cabin for a weekend getaway.

With the money I saved I wouldā¦(1) Buy a pet squirrel and name him Kitty to confuse him. (2) Buy a hot tub and take mid-afternoon soaks with Kitty. (3) Invite Matthew McConagheay over. (4) Make Magic Mike Part 2 starring Kitty, Matthew, and me.
i would take the family out for a nice dinner and a movie, being divorced and having 3 sons, we donāt get out to much, going to the movies would be a treat, prices to see a movie and popcorn are outrageousā¦i always think of my kiddos (15,14,9 all boys) first!
