Come play at Plai Place in Dallas!

This post is in partnership with Plai Place in Dallas. All opinions are my own.

Remember how you felt when you walked into the art room in high school? That shivery kind of excitement that came over you when you were about to get your hands dirty and make something from nothing? You get that same creative rush when you come to Plai Place. This is a place you’ll want to add to your kids’ summer rotation.

Plai Place in Dallas (14902 Preston Road) inspires creativity through various instructor led, hands-on projects – as well as OPEN play. It’s a kids studio where they can let their imaginations run wild to make things.

This past weekend, owner Joi invited my Girl Scout troop in for a complimentary activity – making homemade play dough. They loved taking the ingredients from scratch, shaving cream and cornstarch, a little water, acrylic paints and glitter, and making the perfect consistency of dough. Our girls had a great time making squishing and smashing and experimenting with different ratios to make it less sticky or more glittery. The moms were enjoying the fact that this colossal mess was not on their kitchen tables.

Plai Place is smartly configured to include art areas, a reading room, classroom style projects and even a parents room.

There’s wi-if too so you can work (or chill) while your kids enjoy a class or open play time. (Check website for schedule, but generally offered daily.) Classes include activities like our homemade play dough and magnetic slime, painting and more. Admission is $9 per child and classes are $19 per participant.

It’s so worth the $ to not have this happen in my house, lol!!!

The studio is the owned by Joi Holmes, a Dallas-native and previous educator.

You can tell by her patient personality that she has a lot of experience with kids. 🙂

Plai Place is light and inviting, and reflects her love for creativity and discovery. It’s like the art room you remember.

The studio has a great vibe – I wish I had one just like it but all for myself– so when owner Joi hinted that adult classes may be on the horizon, that had my ears perk up.

Check this place out! Joi’s happy place will soon be yours too.

Thank you Joi! The girls had a great time!
